TAKE ACTION! Support NAHU\’s MLR Legislation!

Please contact your Member of Congress urging them to support bipartisan legislation to remove broker commissions from the MLR calculation under the health reform law.

On February 10, Representatives Billy Long (R-MO) and Kurt Schrader (D-OR) introduced H.R. 815, a bill to remove broker compensation from the Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) calculation. This legislation would stop the MLR regulation issued under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) from causing carriers to reduce the commissions of agents and brokers which has led to a reduction in consumer access to crucial services provided by insurance producers on a daily basis.

As legislation is required to be introduced in each Congress if a bill does not pass, we have once again worked with Congress to introduce the MLR bill into the House of Representatives for the 114th session of Congress. We need your help to get the message out! Adding cosponsors to H.R. 815 will strengthen our message on Capitol Hill about the negative impact the MLR provision has had on jobs across the country. Please urge your representative to cosponsor H.R. 815 by clicking \”Take Action\” today!
