November Luncheon: COBRA Update – A Never-Ending Circle

COBRA UPDATE – A NEVER ENDING CIRCLE –  Course 14551!!    CE – 6 hours – Thursday November 12 – Rolling HIlls Country Club- Arlington, TX – Registration begins at 8:30 Class starts at 9:00 to 3:30.

COBRA – It has CHANGED AGAIN!  You have heard about the Stimulus Package but, what has it done to our COBRA?  It has more than doubled the COBRA participation but, will it be extended? What should employers be doing right now to finalize the 2009 tax reporting of the subsidy?

 But first, let’s review COBRA basics – what employers must, who is eligible, what plans are offered and how the letters are sent.  With this basic review, we  will then bring in the subsidy – there is a difference in being eligible for COBRA and being eligible for the subsidy.

 But wait, there’s more! We will end this session by discussing some of the other Federal changes from 2008 – Michelle’s Law and FMLA.  Then we will compare FMLA, Workers Compensation, Disability and COBRA – how do these programs and laws work together – every timeline is different.
